Production Update — October 2022
Hey Champs!
It’s been a while since we’ve done one of these and you’re probably wondering what we’ve been up to since the last time. Publishing a day after Halloween still counts as kind-of-October, no? 😁
So here’s what’s up: except for the release of the referral program a few weeks ago in an update we named Ekko, we have been focusing heavily on improving the platform architecture and stability, as well as new manager onboarding experience. Our plan has always been to have a well-balanced game economy and a huge part of that is having a good influx of new users to drive the demand.
In the near future…
Considering that around 90% of our marketing efforts are targeting mobile users, it only makes sense to improve their first experience with our platform and keep them interested in the game. To support that goal, we are expanding heavily our data tracking capabilities and making several smaller but important quality of life improvements throughout the game.
Together with Starter Packs, this should enable us to make the most of our current marketing efforts so we are very much looking forward to our upcoming update, Fiora, which is planned for next week.
What’s next?
In keeping with the strategy we outlined above, we have postponed the introduction of any big new features (such as auctions) and are spending the next few months focused on getting what we already have up to par. This includes reviewing the manager onboarding process, resolving some of the technical debt and laying the groundwork that will enable us to make all future releases faster and easier, including the UC basketball which is set to kick off in Q1 2023! 🏀
While this is a process that will take several months, it is also going to benefit all of our current managers. For example, before the release of UC basketball, we will update the design of most of our current platform which should improve readability, user experience and most importantly, make it mobile-friendly.
To start, we picked the parts that we felt were most urgent, like improving the team builders for all game modes (initial draft, leagues and tournaments) because that is the core of our game. We named that update Garen and are hoping to have it ready by the end of November.
Following that, we are planning to update the marketplace, collection and pack store pages to bring them up to the new design standards and improve some usability issues in the process. Specifications for some related features and the product development roadmap that includes them are being prepared as we speak so stay tuned for more info!
Martian what?!
And now on another topic, we wanted to update you a little bit on our marketing efforts and strategies.
As you may have noticed, we started exploring partnerships with other web3 and crypto projects as a means of expanding our reach. The first project we partnered with is Martian Premier League and you can expect more shared communications on social media in the upcoming months.
However, rest assured that we thoroughly vet all our potential partners and will only be entering collaborations that we think would be interesting and useful to our player base.
On top of that, we are also working out new club deals and our plans for following the World Cup so stick around — exciting times are ahead!
As always, thank you, Champs, for your continued support!
