Hey Champs! As we dive into 2024, we’re making some bold and strategic moves at Ultimate Champions. We’re all about listening to you and enhancing our game. That’s why we’ve decided to take a significant step forward by focusing on major clubs and leagues, ensuring our growth aligns with our community’s expectations and desires.
Taking the Leap: A Focused Approach 🎯
Last summer was a whirlwind of excitement, featuring leagues from Norway, Finland, Latvia, and Iceland. But as we gear up for the upcoming season, our spotlight will shine exclusively on the Norwegian Eliteserien. We’ll be stepping away from the Finnish Veikkausliiga, the Latvian Virsliga, and the Icelandic Besta Deildin. While it was fun to experiment with these summer leagues, they are ultimately not a great fit for our grand vision!
But here’s the great news: As a company we’re offering a special opportunity to repurchase your eligible cards from these leagues under specific conditions. And starting with the 2024 seasons, we will cease coverage of these 3 leagues.

These leagues bring richer and more engaging gameplay to Ultimate Champions. We’ve recognized the challenges our Champs faced in accessing comprehensive information about these leagues and players. Furthermore, the ongoing struggle to obtain current match data from our provider impacted leaderboards’ accuracy and reward distribution. This decision, shaped by your valuable feedback, is all about elevating the quality and enjoyment of our platform.
Valuing Top Teams
We want to protect the value and prestige of top-tier teams like Arsenal or Barcelona. Moving away from lower-tier leagues ensures the integrity and value of our top teams, maintaining a high-quality experience for all our players. The erratic nature of lower-tier leagues and player scores created an imbalance in the game and devalued our more prestigious teams. Moreover, there’s a higher risk of athletes going uncovered, posing a substantial risk for manager investments. Athletes in these leagues often hold short-term contracts and tend to transition to leagues not covered in Ultimate Champions, posing a risk for manager investments.
Simplifying the Game
Simplicity is key to a great fantasy football experience! We’re committed to keeping Ultimate Champions easy to play and fun. This shift means more accessible information about teams and players, better media coverage, and more predictable game weeks. We’re streamlining to ensure your experience is as smooth and exciting as possible.
Focusing Rewards in Fewer Tournaments
This isn’t just about streamlining; it’s about amplifying the excitement. By concentrating rewards across fewer tournaments, we’re creating bigger prize pools, boosting the thrill and competitiveness for everyone. This means more significant rewards and a richer gaming experience for all our Champs.
How We’re Making It Happen 🔍
Packs
We’ve removed athletes and packs associated with the Finnish Veikkausliiga, Latvian Virsliga, and Icelandic Besta Deildin from our pack store. These leagues’ cards will no longer be available in packs, streamlining our offerings.
Value & Card Repurchase
By the end of January, we’ll provide detailed criteria for repurchasing your athlete cards. We’re designing a fair system that reflects the true value of each athlete. For example, a 35-year-old DNP athlete won’t be valued the same as a 20-year-old top scorer. Stay tuned for the specific timeframe to sell your athletes back to us.
